Swingmap ("the app") helps you find local dance classes, lessons, and socials. We respect your privacy and keep data collection to an absolute minimum.
None that identifies you. The app does not require an account, name, email, or login. We do not use analytics, advertising, or third-party trackers.
The app keeps a local cache of event listings and, if you use the contributor features, a passcode — saved only in your device's local storage. The passcode is sent to our backend solely to verify it; nothing else is transmitted to us.
If you tap "Add to Apple Calendar," the app adds that event to your device calendar via Apple's EventKit. This happens entirely on your device — we do not read, store, or transmit your calendar.
Event listings (venues, times, styles, instructors) are public information served from our event database. Contributor-submitted events include a public source link.
The app fetches listings from our backend (hosted on Google Apps Script / Google Sheets). No personal data is shared with third parties.
The app is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect data from anyone.
We may update this policy; the effective date above will change accordingly.
